Halloween VGM: Silent Hill
Silent Hill is scary for a lot of reasons. It has crazy monsters, great dark atmosphere, and a pretty haunting soundtrack. Most of the music during the game tends to be sort of industrial in nature, but the opening self-titled song is a classic. Every Silent Hill game has a great title song associated with it, but the first one definitely feels spookier, while the later songs, like Silent Hill 3’s “You’re Not Here” and Shattered Memories’ “When You’re Gone” have gone more upbeat and rock-like. Admittedly, I’ve not played too much in the way of Silent Hill games myself. And when I do play them, I tend to suck at them pretty badly. But that hasn’t stopped me from being a pretty big fan of the series regardless.
