Bring Blogs Back!

I'm resurrecting this old blog space in the spirit of the Bring Blogs Back online initiative! First of all, a disclaimer. Any of the posts before this one may contain broken links or images. It's basically a backup of my old blog which was on Squarespace. It looks like it made it through okay, but I'm sure there are plenty of problems with posts not being formatted correctly and such. I had planned on this WordPress space just being a backup and nothing more, but I think it really is time to bring back individual blogs, so I'm just going to continue on top of the old one!

So I guess a bit of a re-introduction? I usually go by Toad64 online. I'm a huge video game nerd, and while I still play modern games, I really love retro gaming. I'm a fan of cartoons and anime, particularly older anime of the 80s and 90s. I love Ghostbusters and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I occasionally try to make YouTube videos. I'm a hobbyist indie game dev, and I love finding out about all kinds of free or cheap game engines and other cool tools that are out there. And there's a lot! Years ago on this blog I posted a little shooting game I made that was a ripoff of Ghostbusters. I think I originally put it on Kongregate? I've started up a page on Itch.io and have added quite a few new games since then. Some I'm even slightly proud of! I'll probably talk more about them in future posts, but if you'd like to check them out, click here! Lately I've really enjoyed using GDevelop and GB Studio. And I'm hoping to make something with NESMaker in the near future.

Moving forward this blog will most likely be filled with whatever ramblings I feel like, but it will most likely have to do with my interests I talked about up top. I'm also taking this opportunity with the revised blog to play around with WordPress a bit. There's a lot of options available, and I'm still learning how it all works together.
